Rhode Island Lacrosse Classic names OPT Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Official Sports Medicine Provider for Tournaments, Camps and Affiliated Programs.
Portsmouth, RI (PRWEB) September 25, 2015 -- OPT Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, The Rhode Island Lacrosse Classic Tournament Series, The Aquidneck Cannons Lacrosse Club and its affiliated programs announce that it is now the official Sports Medicine Staff for all lacrosse events including the Columbus Day Lacrosse Classic, The Rhode Island Lacrosse Classic, The Beach Dogs Lacrosse Camp in conjunction with the Iroquois Lacrosse Association and numerous other lacrosse events throughout the year that take place in and around Rhode Island.
The new partnership is convenient for athletes and parents due to both organization's having their home base on Aquidneck Island. With one of its six clinics located on Aquidneck Island, OPT Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine makes it possible for members of these competitive lacrosse teams, to stay in performance condition by working with a local sport based Physical Therapy group. The Aquidneck Cannons has players from around Southern New England who can utilize OPT’s offices for therapy and strength and conditioning.
OPT Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine will also provide professional trainers at all tournaments and camps to provide first aid as needed.
Of the recent partnership, OPT Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine co-owner Don Levine said, “We actively seek out opportunities to partner with the top organizations in youth sports in RI and Southeastern MA. We are thrilled to be working with this successful lacrosse program. “
Specializing in the “biomechanics of sport, OPT provides prevention and treatment of orthopedic and sports injuries and is a leader in the region in the area of sports performance training. OPT’s physical therapists, athletic trainers and certified strength and conditioning specialists provide successful programs throughout RI and Southeastern MA and look forward to continuing to develop this relationship with RI Lacrosse Classic.
The Aquidneck Cannons Lacrosse Program manages lacrosse events in Rhode Island for youth and adult lacrosse players who are passionate about the sport. The Rhode Island Classic Tournament Series organizes the top lacrosse events in Rhode Island. In 2015 and 2016 the Rhode Island Lacrosse Classic Series will be compromised of three major events.
- Columbus Day Classic- October 11th & 12th, for youth and high school boys teams
- The RI Lax Classic- July 9th & 10th, for youth and high school boys teams
- The RI Lax Open- July 16th & 17th, for college, open, masters and grandmasters teams
The Aquidneck Cannons is a member of the United States Lacrosse Association. Its missions is to enhance our players life experience through the sport of lacrosse, teaching teamwork, developing leaders and building character. Beach Dogs Lacrosse Camps work with the Iroquois National Lacrosse Association to provide an experience for the local boys and girls with a focus on the history, culture and spirit of the oldest team sport in North America.
