From Mexico to The Woodlands, Local Man Opens Window Genie Franchise
The Woodlands, TX (PRWEB) September 15, 2015 -- Window Genie announces the grand opening of its newest location in The Woodlands on October 19. Jorge Torres is the owner. Window Genie is a national home service franchise specializing in residential and light commercial window cleaning, window tinting, pressure washing, gutter cleaning and more. Window Genie of The Woodlands will service the surrounding communities including Spring, Magnolia and Tomball.
Before purchasing a Window Genie franchise, Jorge spent his career in corporate law in Mexico City. The choice to make a big change was a family decision. "I’ve been visiting the states on both business and vacation since the 60s. We have family and friends in the Houston area, and have owned two vacation homes here. With our kids moving onto university in the U.S. it just made sense to come here permanently,” said Torres.
The decision to open a business was two-fold. Torres explained, “You cannot obtain a permit to work in the United States without presenting a clear business plan. I had to secure definite plans to buy the business before I was even granted permission to work in Texas. It took about eight months but the important thing is that we did it and it was worth it. Business ownership was attractive to me because I’m not the type of person who can work at a desk all day, or stay in one place. As a lawyer I’m used to working long days and enjoy it. As a business owner I knew I’d be extremely busy and active, which is good for me.”
Torres chose to buy a franchise because he recognizes the importance of utilizing a support team and following a proven system. He said, “Window Genie stood out because it’s a mature franchise and has a simple business model with multiple revenue streams. While speaking to current Window Genie franchise partners, all of them with no exception told me I would be dealing with very decent people at the corporate office. That to me was important because I want to trust my partners if I’m taking a risk and making an investment like this. I did and still believe I’ll be set up for success in this business.”
The Torres family is excited to start the new chapter in their lives, re-connecting to the community they’ve vacationed to for years. “The Woodlands was our second home for years, we’re happy to be here for good. I am confident my neighbors need and want our services, so it’s up to me to deliver quality service and stay plugged into my community,” said Torres.
