Lake Carolina Development Hosts Community-Wide Yard Sale
Columbia, S.C. (PRWEB) September 17, 2015 -- Lake Carolina Development, a master-planned community located in NE Columbia, is hosting a yard sale on Sept. 19, open to the greater surrounding area. Beginning at 7am, Lake Carolina’s long-running event will allow locals to shop throughout its vast property.
Community event director, Julia Burley, attributes the success of past years to the simplicity and popularity of a greater community focus. “The yard sale allows the entire neighborhood to participate and that continues to create a sense of community,” Burley says. “People can come and go as they please and it’s very simple. It’s one of our oldest and most successful events.”
The yard sale attracts many locals from the surrounding Columbia area as well as residents within the many Lake Carolina neighborhoods. Attendees may drive or walk through the gorgeous entrance right off Hardscrabble Road and visit the approximated 100 resident properties that participate in the yard sale each year. For those looking to find something specific at the sale, maps provide a summary of items being sold and where each selling home is located. Maps are distributed three days in advance at the Town Center and can also be found online.
Lake Carolina hosts a vast array of single-family suburban homes, lakeside estates, and custom-made woodland homesites. The community includes numerous parks, trails, pools, a bustling town center and a beautiful 200-acre freshwater lake. The community hosts a full calendar of social events year round, ranging from story time for kids, an ice cream social and holiday festivities.
Currently, the community is preparing their next big event, the Wine & Food Festival, which is scheduled for Oct. 24.
