Aria Health Announces Expansion of Breast Health Program and Upcoming Screenings in Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) October 13, 2015 -- Aria Health, the largest healthcare provider in Northeast Philadelphia and Lower Bucks County, today announced a new addition to its growing Breast Health Program, welcoming board-certified Breast Surgeon Ronit Sugar, MD. Following the recent appointment of Jack Sariego, MD, FACS, as head breast surgeon and medical director of the Aria Health Breast Health Program, Dr. Sugar brings new clinical and surgical Breast Health services to Aria Health’s Torresdale and Bucks County campuses. In addition to this new hire, the program is also providing free breast screening events during the month of October for uninsured and underinsured women in the community as a part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“Since joining Aria Health, my main goal has been to lead a Breast Health Program that meets all of our patients’ needs with a staff that truly connects with each woman we treat,” said Dr. Sariego. “It is important to me that our patients feel supported and know that we are there for them from the moment they walk through the door. Dr. Sugar is a highly skilled surgeon who is passionate about her work and cares deeply about her patients, which is something we value. She is an excellent fit here at Aria, and I am confident she will connect with our patients and provide them with the most advanced care possible with the compassion they deserve.”
Dr. Sugar brings decades of surgical experience to Aria Health, as she has spent nearly 20 years as a private practice physician with a focus on breast surgery. Since her time in private practice, she has served as a full-time staff surgeon, practicing breast and general surgery at Warminster General Hospital, St. Mary Medical Center, Delaware Valley Medical Center, Lower Bucks County Hospital and Albert Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia and Montgomery. She also held the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine.
Dr. Sugar received her bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College and her medical degree from Hahnemann University. She completed her internship and residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
