World Renowned Soundsuit Artist Nick Cave Opens "As Is" Performance in Shreveport, LA, March 20, 2016
SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, LA (PRWEB) October 13, 2015 -- Louisiana is no stranger to the colorful and the outrageous. It’s no wonder Soundsuit artist Nick Cave thinks the northwest corner of this flamboyant state is the perfect place to bring his elaborate, symbolic and engaging art. This is an ideal group tour experience to see Nick Cave perform, "As Is" at 2 p.m., March 20, 2016 at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The Nick Cave Group Tour package includes the exciting, one-of-a-kind Nick Cave performance, a Louisiana Jazz Brunch at Artspace, a “Nick Cave Blankets Shreveport” t-shirt, and a tour of the Nick Cave video and art exhibition at a cost of $50 per person. The performance will include dancers, original music, poetry and special effects, all choreographed and directed by Nick Cave using hundreds of elaborately beaded blankets designed and constructed under Cave’s tutelage. The show is being written by Cave to tell the stories of the “Unseen” people of an “Uncommon” neighborhood in Shreveport called Shreveport Common. Shreveport Common is the 2015 National Development Council’s #1 Community Development Project in the nation.
“My work in Shreveport will be like nothing I’ve ever done – a brand new idea,” said Cave. “I will be sharing my vision, concepts and techniques with local artists, and they will share it with participants at local social service agencies in the “Uncommon” local neighborhood known as Shreveport Common. I am an artist with a conscience who commits to making a difference in the communities in which I work.”
Cave’s Soundsuit art is exhibited at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Trapholt Museum of Modern Art in Denmark. He works around the world in London, Paris, China, Jerusalem and soon Australia.
