Local Nonprofit Founder to Showcase New Book at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 20, 2015 -- Kit Cummings, the founder of the Power of Peace Project, will be showcasing his newest release, Peace Behind the Wire, at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center October 22nd at 6:30 pm for their quarterly literary event, A Book Affair.
A new addition to Atlanta’s literary community, A Book Affair is quickly gaining a name for itself. Kit Cummings will be one of only four local authors invited to headline the event each year.
Cummings’s new book, Peace Behind the Wire: A Nonviolent Resolution chronicles the origins of Power of Peace Project. Having begun as a peace pledge taken by twelve inmates being housed in one of Georgia’s most dangerous prisons in 2011, the Power of Peace Project evolved into a global movement. Currently, the program has planted seeds in prisons, schools, and churches across the United States, South Africa, Mexico, Honduras, and Ukraine.
“This book is the culmination of five years of traveling all over the country and even overseas developing this project,” shares Kit. “It has taken me into the lives of the most fascinating people in some of the toughest environments.”
The event will begin with a meet-and-greet and wine reception, followed by the author’s presentation, and ending with a Q&A session and book signing.
