Fairfield, CT (PRWEB) November 01, 2015 -- Fairfield Theatre Company heard the call from their patrons wanting more FTC, so starting on Nov. 5, FTC will host a week’s worth of entertainment at three different venues in celebration of their never-ending quest to bring the best entertainment to Fairfield County.

Starting this week-long celebration of entertainment will be the legendary Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5 at Bridgeport’s Klein Auditorium.

As the managing artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center — a title that the New York Times says “significantly understates his role in its origins and day-to-day operations” — the world-renowned trumpeter, composer and author’s life sounds like fairy tale. Having begun classical training on trumpet at age 12, Wynton entered The Juilliard School at the age of 17 and soon was performing with legendary jazz artist Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers.

Today it’s understandable as to why the New York Times says Wynton “has achieved the cultural celebrity of Duke Ellington. Or perhaps more accurately Leonard Bernstein, since Mr. Marsalis, too is a lovingly adopted New Yorker who serves as global emissary for the music he loves and the institution he leads.”

After making his debut recording as a band leader in 1982, Marsalis has since recorded more than 60 jazz and classical recordings, won an exceptional nine Grammy Awards and became the first and only artist to have won a Grammy in both classical and jazz categories in the same year; not once, but twice.

Still, what makes Marsalis stand out from any other multiple Grammy award winner is that he is also an internationally respected teacher and spokesman for music education and became the first jazz artist to ever be awarded the prestigious Pulitzer Prize in music for his oratorio “Blood on the Fields,” which Jazz at Lincoln Center commissioned.

Get ready as the legendary composer brings his orchestra to Bridgeport’s Klein Auditorium for a night that will go down in musical history or at least become one of the most talked about events for years to come.

But the Fairfield Theatre Company is just getting started as they will play host to an incredible evening that gives back, as local charity organization Band Together performs a benefit for three local charities: Sticks for Soldiers, Norma Pfriem Urban Outreach Initiatives and Dress for Success MID Fairfield County on Friday, Nov. 6 at StageOne.

Band Together founders Jerry Vigorito and Rob Fried take audiences on a tour of the most popular rock music of the last generation, all in support of these three unique and amazing organizations. Joining Jerry and Rob for this special night will be Bobby Harden, singer for the Original Blues Brothers, Laura Merrill, Jessica Antonette, Jeremy Goldsmith, Tyger MacNeal and Jay Rowe. Join FTC and Band Together as they give back and rock out for a great cause that will once again touch the heart and soul of all in attendance.

And speaking of touching the heart and soul of those in attendance, FTC is delighted to welcome back the international Irish songwriter, Declan O’Rourke, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 at StageOne.

The Irish songwriter O'Rourke grew up by dividing his formative years between Australia and his native Dublin, where he honed his craft at an expedited rate. Now years later, with his signature bristly vocal style that contrasts neatly with his intelligent string- and piano-laden arrangements, O’Rourke brings his audience-friendly brand of acoustic pop back to StageOne in support of his just released album, “Gold Bars In The Sun.”

Featuring songwriters John Prine and the Milk Spots, the songs on this incredible album represent some of Declan’s finest compositions to date.

And as the Irish saying “seeing is believing” goes, the Fairfield Theatre Company believes that those in attendance are about to see one amazing show. Not to mention one of the best emerging bands out of New Orleans will be taking the stage as well. The Revivalists return to FTC but this time to rock out FTC’s newest venue, The Warehouse at 8 p.m. on Nov. 8.

After seven years of making music together, this New Orleans rock hybrid featuring David Shaw - vocals, Zack Feinberg - guitar, Andrew Campanelli - drums, Ed Williams - pedal steel guitar, Milford’s own George Gekas - bass, Rob Ingraham - saxophone, and Michael Girardot - keyboards and trumpet, have so much passion exuding out of them, that it’s surprising the entire world doesn’t hear them perform when they take the stage..

Having become a fan favorite and a must-see at music venues and festivals across the country for their elements of rock, soul, country, funk, and killer roots grooves, The Revivalists make their triumphant return to FTC in support of their latest studio album, “Men Amongst Mountain.” This incredible new album captures the very essence of the bayou and as Renownedforsound.com says “’Men Amongst Mountains’ is soulful rock done right. It’s a perfect example of how even little things can keep an album from sounding exactly the same over 14 songs... The Revivalists have well and truly raised the bar this time around, and any fan of blues, rock or soul will want to check this album out as soon as possible.”

The Revivalists will once again deliver a night of in-your-face, high-energy rock that will take over Fairfield County and rejuvenate everyone in attendance, making them feel as though they’ve fallen under some kind of voodoo spell.

Speaking of falling under a spell, the legendary classic rock and roll saxophonist Edgar Winter performs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9 at StageOne.

As a technically proficient child prodigy, Edgar Winter achieved international success early in his life. As an ingenious writer, Winter found an audience in every major entertainment medium from music to film and even television, thanks to his knack for encompassing many different genres in the music he performed.

It was during the early ’70s that Winter’s legendary career began to take shape by mixing these mediums of rock, jazz, blues and pop that led to the creation of such legendary hits as “Frankenstein” and the even more popular, “Free Ride.” The heavy synthesizer “Frankenstein” propelled Winter into stardom and became the first-ever artist to feature a synthesizer as the main instrument on a song. One could say that “Frankenstein” revolutionized rock and roll that then swung the door wide open to a new world of possibilities for the experimentation of sound, which Winter is known for today.

With more than 20 albums and numerous collaborative efforts to date, including performing alongside legendary Beatle Ringo Starr, Edgar Winter comes to StageOne for a unique rock and roll live show of monstrous proportions as the legendary saxophonist performs such classic hits as “Keep Playing That Rock and Roll,” “Turn on Your Love Light,” “Free Ride,” “Texas,” “Tobacco Road” and of course “Frankenstein,” that will have those in attendance feeling as though they’re dreaming.

And still this incredible weeks’ worth of entertainment isn’t over just yet, as FTC continues the celebration of giving its patrons more of what they want as they welcome the exceptional blues artist Tommy Castro and the Painkillers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11 to StageOne.

Throughout the course of his four-decade career, Tommy Castro delivers his fierce and fiery blues-soaked, soul-bareing music to captivate audiences all over the world night after night.

Hailing from the San Francisco area, Castro formed The Painkillers, a mean four-piece lineup that is fueled by Tommy’s voice and guitar alongside bassist Randy McDonald, keyboardist Michael Emerson and drummer Bowen Brown, in 2012. Since then, the music these four gentlemen perform has been firing up fans and leaving critics searching for new words to praise their craft.

Returning to StageOne in support of their newest album, “Method To My Madness,” Castro and The Painkillers turn the intensity up with more grit, passionate vocals, memorable song licks, high-performance grooves and soulful ballads that will instantly bring fans to their feet.

“With the new album, I was trying to get back to my basic ingredients: blues and soul,” Castro said. “I went for the energy of connecting with my band. We kept everything raw, capturing the feeling of playing live. I’m not about being perfect. I’m about being real. Clearly that is the method to his madness.”

“Method To My Madness” finds Tommy Castro and The Painkillers at their very best. It is instantly a career-defining highlight in a lifetime full of them. See for yourself as Castro brings his new raw, raucous and rocking songs to an intimate crowd that are full of energy and see Tommy and the band firing on all cylinders.

There’s no better way to celebrate the end of an unbelievable weeks’ worth of entertainment than with FTC welcoming back the international touring tribute show, Satisfaction, to StageOne at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 12.

Dedicated to one of the world's greatest rock and roll bands, The Rolling Stones, this Billboard and Pollstar highly-rated show is entering their 15th year in production with more than 2,500 performances to date.

Fans of Mick, Keith, Ronnie or Charlie don’t want to miss this incredible show that showcases the colorful performance the Stones have been known as for the past 50 years.

See why Satisfaction has been featured in Rolling Stone magazine, Showbiz Magazine, Las Vegas Today, CBS Sunday Morning news and hundreds of national newspapers and magazines as the most authentic tribute acts in the world.

The people spoke about wanting more, and FTC listened. So clear the calendar, call in to work sick, call a babysitter or do whatever is necessary to get down to FTC, because a week packed with this much quality entertainment is too good to pass up.
