ZOM Named Among Top 3 Florida Green Home Builders by the Florida Green Building Coalition
Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) November 16, 2015 -- ZOM was recognized at the annual GreenTrends conference as one of Florida’s Top Green Home Builders by the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), garnering third place among the leading 15 builders selected. The awards recognition was part of the FGBC’s 15th anniversary celebration of their GreenTrends conference, an annual two-day conference that brings together green building industry leaders throughout the state to shape policies and practices for the industry.
“As one of the leading luxury multifamily developers in the nation, we are honored to be recognized for our efforts,” said Greg West, ZOM’s Chief Development Officer. “Sustainability matters and as an environmentally conscious builder, we strive to incorporate into our projects as many green elements as possible.”
ZOM’s Director of Construction, Gerard van der Laan, accepted the award at the Orlando event where the top 15 builders were selected based on the number homes certified under the FGBC’s Florida Green Home certification program. FGBC certified homes complete a technically rigorous building assessment and construction process to produce highly efficient homes that reduce the negative environmental impacts of the building, improve occupant health and well-being, and reduce operating costs for the owner.
In announcing the Top 15 Green Home Builders list, FGBC Executive Director Suzanne Cook commented, “These builders are being recognized for their conscientious green building efforts in creating healthier and safer homes and a more sustainable Florida. As FGBC marks its 15th anniversary, we're pleased to salute their contributions to creating more resilient communities and protecting Florida’s natural resources.”
