Leaving a buffer zone of a couple business days during this period is a good practice.

In preparation for the pre-holiday rush, announced their holiday schedule this week and reminds customers that this is the busiest time of year for shipping and to account for potential delays.

They're also reminding customers to check UPS's website for any date-specific restrictions.

This time of year usually brings a surge of time-sensitive products like custom calendars, postcards, Christmas cards and posters as families and businesses send season's greetings to their contacts and create custom gifts for their loved ones.

Customers can order their color printing from anytime on their website, but their customer support hours are slightly adjusted:

  • Christmas Eve - Open from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. PST
  • Christmas Day - No phone support
  • New Years Eve - Normal hours (6 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST)
  • New Years Day - No phone support

"We want all of our customers who have deadlines to consider UPS's and our holiday schedule when setting any timelines," says Jeff Corbo, the company's vice president. "They should also keep in mind the possibility of inclement weather and the holiday shipping surge, so leaving a buffer zone of a couple business days during this period is a good practice."
