By providing resources to all, either directly from OpenEd.com or within an LMS, we can best help teachers and students in today’s blended learning classrooms.
LOS GATOS, Calif. (PRWEB) December 09, 2015
OpenEd.com, the world’s largest K-12 open educational resource (OER) library, today announced that its hundreds of thousands of free online resources are now integrated with Canvas by Instructure, Schoology, Moodle, Highlight by EdElements, Matchbook Learning's Spark, and Edmodo. These join the current integrations, which include Google Classroom, Renaissance Learning’s STAR tests, Atlas Learning and Otus Plus.
Currently, more than 280,000 teachers use OpenEd.com to find best-in-class blended learning resources, such as videos, games and assessments, for their classrooms.
“We are committed to providing the best online resources to teachers anywhere—on our website or other websites. By providing resources to all, either directly from OpenEd.com or within an LMS, we can best help teachers and students in today’s blended learning classrooms,” said Adam Blum, founder and CEO of OpenEd.
All of the integrations include single sign on, so teachers and students can access OpenEd’s resources without new usernames or passwords. All of these new LTI integrations include sharing of assessment and homework results from OpenEd back to the LMS. Other OpenEd integrations, such as Google Classroom, Spark and Highlight, also include rostering.
“Canvas makes teaching and learning easier for more than a thousand universities and school districts,” said Melissa Loble, vice president of partners and programs at Instructure, the company that makes the Canvas Learning Management System. “We are pleased that teachers can now access OpenEd’s quality videos, formative assessments, homework assignments and more in the Canvas platform without having to create new usernames or passwords.”
“We are excited that Schoology’s 12 million users can now easily access OpenEd's resource library of videos, assessment and homework assignments in our platform,” said Jeremy Friedman, Schoology co-founder and CEO. "With Schoology's education cloud, we're working to connect all resources in one place for students and teachers. Making the OpenEd library accessible with a single login on our platform furthers that goal while making everyone's lives easier.”
“OpenEd is an example for how edtech companies should collaborate and put resources into data integrations. Their collaborative approach enables Matchbook to push Spark forward and provide quality resources for our students and teachers. We look forward to progressing our partnership forward with OpenEd,” said Al Motley, Jr., chief technology officer, Matchbook Learning.
