BNIC Postpones 10th Edition of “La Part des Anges” for 2016
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 08, 2015 -- The BNIC (Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac) – a trade board promoting Cognac and its producers – announces the postponement of this year’s “La Part des Anges,” for September 22nd, 2016. In preparation of continued growth and success of previous editions, the team behind “La Part des Anges” will use the additional time for adequate planning of a most memorable event in a unique venue of Charente architecture in Cognac, France.
Created in 2006 by the BNIC, "La Part des Anges" has become in only 9 editions the world’s greatest Cognac auction - with the ambition of mobilizing all of the Cognac industry, the aim of welcoming collectors around the world and the desire to share the prestige of France’s most famous spirit via such limited-edition unique Cognac carafes. These carafes contain extremely rare, high quality eaux-de-vies, aged and blended over many years, all donated by the distinguished Cognac houses.
Participation & Sales Record Continues to Rise
While 18 Cognac Houses participated in the first edition, last year saw 25 Houses and the upcoming 10th edition in 2016 is expecting at least 30 to contribute with their creativity, excellence and generosity. This increase of participation is also reflected in the impressive growth of funds raised over the years: the first edition in 2006 raised 15,000 euros (over $18,000), while last year’s 9th edition yielded more than 230,000 euros (over $250,000). Since its inception, 850,000 euros (over $1M) have thus been collected and donated to charities (Institut de France, Order of Malta, local charities ...).
Through "La Part des Anges," Cognac professionals honor this wonderful spirit to which the auction owes so much. 2016 will be a unique opportunity to celebrate all that is intimately related to Cognac: its history, terroir, landscapes, savoir-faire, businesses, talents, passions, gastronomy and art-de-vivre.
