2015 Minority Vetrepreneur of the Year® Bede Ramcharan, CEO of Indatatech, Named by The National Veteran Owned Business Association (NaVOBA)
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) October 15, 2015 -- The National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA), in partnership with American Airlines and Hilton Worldwide, is proud to announce that Bede Ramcharan, owner of Indatatech, is the 2015 Minority Vetrepreneur of the Year®.
“Bede Ramcharan is a shining example of how military experience translates into leadership success in entrepreneurship,” NaVOBA President Chris Hale said. “His dedication and commitment to quality personify why Corporate America places such value on partnering with veteran-owned businesses.”
Ramcharan left the military after 20 years of service in the U.S. Army, a career he fully intended to utilize in order to receive a scholarship, and nothing more. However, Ramcharan says he “just kept having fun,” so he stayed with the military long enough to become a lieutenant colonel, learning how to be an outstanding leader along the way.
“American Airlines values the men and women who serve our country and the experiences they have to offer,” said Robin Pulford, American Airlines supplier diversity manager. “Their leadership traits, deep commitment and solid values are added benefits to their organization. We are honored to recognize Bede Ramcharan’s success as a minority veteran business owner.”
“Hilton’s supplier diversity program is proud to include veterans in their pool of suppliers,” said Fred Lona, Senior Director Supplier Diversity, Hilton Worldwide. “Due to their experience and leadership skills, veterans are a natural fit into Hilton’s supply chain. They bring the integrity, teamwork and world class solutions necessary to become a part of the Hilton Worldwide supply chain.”
Founded in 2000, Indatatech (which stands for Instant Data Technologies) is a full-service management and consulting company specializing in supply-chain processes, procurement and logistics management services. Today, Indatatech has a global presence, providing its services to organizations all over the U.S. and across the world. With locations in San Antonio, Houston, New Hampshire, Germany, and soon in Washington D.C., Indatatech has grown exponentially, with revenues growing by almost 300 percent from 2012 to 2014.
“I am very honored and humbled to have been nominated and ultimately selected for this honor,” said Bede Ramcharan. “This honor is a reflection of my company, and not solely about me. We have assembled an amazing team that focuses on delivering high performing solutions for our customers. Last, I thank my family and friends who inspire, motivate and push me to continually do better and move forward.”
NaVOBA and its partner sponsors will present Ramcharan with his award at a special ceremony as part of the 2015 National Minority Supplier Development Council Conference and Business Opportunity Exchange on October 19 in San Diego, California. Joining Ramcharan will be four other Minority Vetrepreneur of the Year® finalists including: Burnell Cotlon, owner and operator of the first grocery store in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward, which is still recovering from the devastation following Hurricane Katrina; Lauren Little, Edible Arrangements franchisee; Levi Robinson, president and CEO of Advanced Technology Logistics; and Charlisa Watson, founder of CRW & Associates LLC.
Each veteran’s remarkable story is featured in the October issue of Vetrepreneur® magazine, the special minority-vetrepreneurs celebration issue.
