Q1Group Reminds Seniors That October 15th Begins the 2015 Annual Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage Plan Open Enrollment Period
Saint Augustine, FL (PRWEB) October 14, 2014 -- Q1Group reminds seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries that the 2015 annual Open Enrollment Period starts October 15th and continues through December 7th.
During the 2015 Open Enrollment Period, seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries can add, change, or drop their 2015 Medicare Part D prescription drug plan or Medicare Advantage plan coverage.
Medicare beneficiaries dropping their Medicare Advantage plan will be returned to Original Medicare Part A and Part B and can join a Medicare Part D plan.
People dropping their Medicare prescription drug coverage are reminded that they may be assessed a permanent late-enrollment penalty for every month they are without creditable prescription drug coverage should they ever decide to re-enroll in a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan.
Any 2015 Medicare plan changes made between October 15th and December 7th will take effect on January 1, 2015.
To help seniors get an overview of their 2015 Medicare plan options, the Q1Group site, Q1Medicare.com now offers their Medicare Advantage plan finder, MA-Finder and Medicare Part D prescription drug plan finder, PDP-Finder. The Q1Medicare.com plan search tools include plan coverage details and provide links to all 2015 Medicare prescription drug plan formularies or drug lists.
Medicare beneficiaries who make no changes during the Open Enrollment Period will be automatically re-enrolled into their current Medicare plan for the 2015 plan year. However, Medicare beneficiaries are reminded that their plan can change every year and each beneficiary should have received an Annual Notice of Change letter (ANOC) from their Medicare Part D or Medicare Advantage plan carrier explaining any 2015 plan changes.
To assist seniors, the Q1Medicare.com site also provides their PDP-Compare and MA-Compare tools so Medicare beneficiaries can review how all 2014 Medicare prescription drug plans or Medicare Advantage plans in their service area are changing in 2015. The Q1Medicare online comparison tools show changes in plan names, premiums, deductibles, gap coverage, co-payments, and Low-Income Subsidy $0 premium status. New 2015 Medicare plans and those 2014 plans that will be discontinued in 2015 are also highlighted along with plan consolidations and plan crosswalks.
Like other Q1Group tools included on Q1Medicare.com, the 2015 PDP-Finder, MA-Finder, PDP-Compare, and MA-Compare are available to all site visitors at no cost and designed for PC, smartphone, and tablet platforms.
