22 Winning Hackathon Prototypes’ Turned Startup to Present at AngelHack’s Fourth Annual Global Demo Day
San Francisco, Calif. (PRWEB) October 01, 2015 -- On October 29th, 2015 at 5:30 p.m at the Brava Theater Center in San Francisco, the top one percent of developers, investors, entrepreneurs and representatives from highly accredited startup accelerators will gather for what can be described as the real-life Shark Tank, AngelHack’s Fourth Annual Global Demo Day (GDD).
This year’s GDD is bringing 22 teams from over 20 cities in 13 different countries, to one place to demo their projects in front of over 150 tier one investors. A cumulative end to AngelHack’s HACKcelerator program; a 12-week pre-accelerator designed to help hackathon hackers explore and refine their ideas, building their winning hackathon prototypes’ into a fully fledged startup. Some notable teams demoing at this year’s GDD include:
- BoxTrip from Mexico City; marketplace for moving services. BoxTrip has already acquired an active customers base and B2B partnerships as well as being selected as one of Mexico’s 10 hottest startups.
- Plain Exchange from Hong Kong; providing peer to peer currency exchange solution for university students and already has 30,000 HKD in transactions.
- Wrapupp from Dubai; a cloud based meeting productivity tool that directs result oriented meetings.
- AtumSoft from Cincinnati; hardware that helps solve the issue of inefficiency in modern-day lab equipment.
“This year’s teams are performing exceptionally well. Nine weeks into the program, we're already seeing some startups closing strategic partnerships with corporate giants such as Microsoft and have inbound investor interest,” said Director of Business Acceleration at AngelHack, Milan Koch.
These teams, along with others, will present their startups at AngelHack’s Fourth Annual GDD in hopes of wowing the crowd and going home with seed-funding, while revealing the future of the global tech industry to a high-profile judging panel, including: Michael Siebel, Partner at Y-Combinator; Kat Manalac, Partner at Y-Combinator; Jenny Fielding, Managing Director at TechStars; Ed Spiegel, EIR with 500 Startups; Erik Moore, Managing Partner at Base Ventures; Joseph Wei, Managing Partner at Lab360; and Keri Gohman, Head of Small Business Banking at Capital One.
