Firm achieves "Vanguard" status and is termed a "Best of Breed" service provider.

"Providers identified as Best of Breed stand out from their peers for their highly effective and often innovative approaches."

Greybeard Advisors, a Pittsburgh-based strategic sourcing and procurement consulting firm, has been named a Vanguard service provider by Kennedy Consulting Research & Advisory. Kennedy, a leader in market analysis of the consulting profession, released its first-ever comprehensive assessment of 36 leading global firms in the Sourcing & Procurement Consulting category on December 30, 2015. Firms achieving Vanguard status demonstrate market-leading depth in particular capabilities or meaningful depth across a broad spectrum of services.

“Given the stature of Kennedy, and its reputation for independent and comprehensive benchmarking, this is one of the highest honors our organization could receive,” commented Greybeard Advisors president Robert A. Rudzki. “Since our founding 11 years ago, we’ve consistently received industry recognition, including being named to the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 and “Pros to Know” annual listings. This new recognition from Kennedy affirms our firm’s continued growth in capabilities and reputation.”

Kennedy’s study also named Greybeard as the Best of Breed service provider in the area of Organizational Excellence—the ability of the consulting firm to design clients’ procurement organizational structure, determine staffing requirements, align roles and responsibilities, and integrate procurement with R&D, production, logistics and sales activities.

“Providers identified as Best of Breed stand out from their peers for their highly effective and often innovative approaches,” explains Nathan Simon, Director of Strategy & Operations Consulting Research at Kennedy. The study cited the deep, real-world experience of Greybeard’s consulting staff, the firm’s focus on cross-functional collaboration, and a demonstrated ability to create a more engaged procurement function.

To prepare its study, Kennedy examined each consulting firm and detailed key service strengths and weaknesses, as well as the firm’s focus. Capability maps illustrate each firm’s standing in relation to peers. “We thoroughly research consulting firms to help potential clients understand the landscape and how to best use each firm,” said Mr. Simon.
