NYSSA Rapid Responder Program Expansion Continues Across New York State with Upcoming Road Show
ALBANY, NY (PRWEB) January 12, 2016 -- During the week of January 18th, 2016, Prepared Response, Inc. and the New York State Sheriffs’ Association (NYSSA) will be traveling throughout New York State to meet with key educational leaders to share information about the NYSSA Rapid Responder Program. Meetings in Erie, Syracuse, Plattsburgh, and Ulster are scheduled, and will include guest speakers, a live demonstration of Rapid Responder®, and information on how current BOCES program participants provide the service to their component districts.
“The NYSSA Rapid Responder Program has given many schools in New York State the opportunity to better prepare for emergencies,” says Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy, Washington County, New York Sheriff. “Without the willingness of the area BOCES, these schools would not have availability to the NYSSA Rapid Responder Program like they do. From a first responder point of view, it is a necessary tool that every school should have to mitigate risk and manage crisis.”
During the meetings, attendees will hear from guest speakers sharing their experience with the NYSSA Rapid Responder Program and how it has both increased emergency preparedness in their schools and strengthened their partnership with local first responders. In just the last year, the NYSSA Rapid Responder Program has been deployed in 250 facilities throughout New York State and used by nearly 100 public safety agencies including sheriffs, police, fire, and emergency medical responders. Utilizing the system and its available apps and features, emergency management is easily attained, better preparing schools and first responders to respond to a crisis.
“I have had the opportunity to work closely with Prepared Response, New York State BOCES and local first responders to deploy the NYSSA Rapid Responder Program into school districts across the state,” says Chuck Gallo, Deputy Executive Director of the New York State Sheriffs’ Association. “We found many schools were just not as well prepared to respond to emergencies as the times we live in necessitate. Rapid Responder allows school officials and first responders immediate access to critical information. The support from BOCES across the state to offer this service to schools in their respective regions is fundamental to the success of emergency preparedness and crisis management for schools in New York.”
The digital technology behind the program is Rapid Responder, emergency preparedness and crisis management system. Rapid Responder stores over 380 data points of critical response information, easily accessed by responders and school personnel during any crisis. Electronic information stored includes emergency response plans, evacuation plans, tactical response information, Incident Command System, real-time alerts, best access points, and more.
