Beginning this week (February 8) and running through February 21, Boston.com will ask its readers to nominate their local favorites in 20 categories that restaurants, nightlife, arts and innovation. The finalists will be announced on March 1, which also marks the opening of fan voting, and registration for the winner event on March 24.
This year, there will be 40 BOSTON UNCOMMON awards 20 selected by Boston.com readers and 20 chosen by Boston.com’s team of reporters and editors. The result will be an unparalleled guide to our city's best hidden gems, which will appear on Boston.com on Friday, March 25.

BOSTON UNCOMMON, presented by Capital One, will have an exclusive event March 24 at Space 57 at The Revere Hotel in Boston, where the recipients of 20 editorial awards will be honored. Music will be provided by RadioBDC and tickets will be available to the public in coming weeks.

Capital One is sponsoring the award for Uncommon Good, an honor targeted to non-profit organizations, community groups, or grass-roots efforts that are improving the lives of Bostonians in uncommon ways. Capital One will announce the winner on March 24.
