Fast Company Names Babbel as Leader of Most Innovative Education Companies Worldwide and 48th Most Innovative Company Overall

Babbel makes language learning easy and accessible to everyone. Now, having reached one million paying customers, the Berlin and New York-based startup is one step closer to becoming a household name. This is a major milestone for a company operating a premium-only business model. It's also significant for the online language-learning industry as a whole, as it signals a growing global trend for language learning. The news marks the first time the company has disclosed such numbers.

Further to this announcement is the publication of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2016, a feature which highlights Babbel as one of the world’s leading innovators. Published annually, the index is widely considered to be an international who’s who of disruptive and creative organizations. Babbel also takes the top spot among the publication’s top 10 innovative companies in education. Babbel sets itself apart by pairing relevant content with proven methodology, enabling and inspiring users to converse in a new language right from the very first lesson.

In support of this push, the management team has been bolstered with world-class talent in the form of Arne Schepker (CMO) and Martin Kuetter (COO).

Both new arrivals bring with them considerable experience: Schepker has previously served as VP of Brand Marketing at Zalando, prior to which he was leading marketing at P&G Switzerland. Kütter has more than 17 years of management experience, including time as COO of Delivery Hero and Telefonica Germany.
