RxMedPro Healthcare Group Donates $1,200 Bulletproof Vest to Local Police Department Resident K-9
Manchester, NH (PRWEB) February 18, 2016 -- RxMedPro Health Care Group, Inc., a Manchester, NH-based pharmaceutical and healthcare consulting company, announced today that it has donated a custom-fit, $1,200 bulletproof and stab-proof vest to the Londonderry Police Department’s resident K-9.
The vest is designed to protect Mingo, a 7-year-old German Shepard, from ballistic, slash and stab attacks when searching a building, tracking an armed suspect or assisting police in dangerous situations. Constructed from 100 percent heavy duty Poly Duck, the vest is a product of Armor Express and provides protection for Mingo’s sides, back, underside and chest without restricting movement.
RxMedPro Healthcare was inspired to donate a new K-9 vest to the Londonderry Police Department after learning last year that the vest in service for Mingo was designed to fit a former K-9 and was not stab-resistant. The company has also offered to cover the cost of repairs to the vest after its three-year warranty expires.
“Learning more about the duties and day-to-day operations of these fearless creatures, it’s hard not to want to contribute to their protection in any way possible,” said Charles Doucette, Director of Pharmacy Operations and Managing Partner at RxMedPro. “Mingo has played an instrumental role in serving our wider community, and the least we could do is provide him with the protection and safety that all law enforcement K-9s deserve.”
Mingo began training with the Londonderry Police Department in 2010 and has since assisted the police in many cases, including finding 20 pounds of hashish inside a raft shipped from California to Keene, NH.
“We ask a police dog to do things that other police officers can't do,” explains Londonderry K-9 Officer John Perry. “We would be doing them a disservice if we didn't provide them with the proper equipment that helps ensure a successful and safe K-9 deployment.” He added: “We’re grateful to RxMedPro for providing K-9 Mingo with his new ballistic and stab-proof vest.”
The vest is embroidered with the word “police” in bold white letters and RxMedPro’s company logo can be found on the breastplate.
Since its founding two years ago, RxMedPro has contributed to the Lowell Humane Society and plans to donate five percent of its 2016 profits to charities and nonprofit organizations that benefit research and relief for diseases such as Alzheimer’s, cancer and HIV/AIDS.
