Survalent Technology's SCADA System Enhances Central Electric Cooperative Services
BRAMPTON, ON (PRWEB) February 18, 2016 -- Central Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CEC), a member owned non-profit cooperative serving members in Central Oregon since 1941, has implemented a new SCADA system based on Survalent ONETM technology.
Central Electric Cooperative will leverage the SCADA system to further shorten response times and enhance the reliability of its customer support services to its more than 32,000 service accounts. Using Survalent SCADA technology, control room engineers can operate in a virtual environment and better communicate power distribution information to its stakeholders.
CEC deployed a dual-redundant Survalent ONETM SCADA system with a SmartVU advanced graphical user interface. The dual redundant configuration adds resilience to the utility’s operations and energy distribution, contributing to increased reliability and customer satisfaction. The WebSurv and SurvCentral applications provide CEC with real-time SCADA information to share with its members via web browsers. Operational and control room information is optimized and secured for a range of mobile devices which can be used to view and share any graphical SmartVU display. In the event of an outage or service issue, these applications can assist Central Electric Cooperative decision-making when deploying resources to restore service during power outages.
“We chose Survalent Technology for its innovative ADMS suite of applications and ease of use. This combined with their expandability, top notch support team, and value for the price made this an easy decision,” said Robert Bronson, Electrical Engineer at Central Electric Cooperative, Inc.
The new SCADA system provides CEC with an advanced monitoring and control system to improve customer support and the delivery of competitively priced electricity to its members. The system investment has also established a solid technology foundation for CEC to easily implement advanced distribution management on a single integrated platform in the future.
