TruGranite Sinks from MR Direct Now cUPC Certified
Toledo, Ohio (PRWEB) March 05, 2016 -- MR Direct is proud to announce that all models in their TruGranite kitchen sink collection have undergone, and passed, testing by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, Research and Testing Inc. (IAPMO R&T). Six styles, each available in six colors, are now formally certified to have met the requirements of the Uniform Plumbing Code.
All MR Direct TruGranite sinks, are created from a blend of quartzite and acrylic in an 80/20 ratio. This combination results in a durable material, extremely well-suited to be formed into a kitchen sink. These basins can withstand water temperatures up to 550°, far beyond the 212° boiling point of water. Further, they are resistant to staining and scratching. Even the acrylic component acts as a sound dampener making these sinks very quiet.
Perhaps the most impressive feature of TruGranite sinks is its use of a hygienic technology which has been employed in medical industries for years. Silver ions are infused into the sink’s raw materials during manufacture and continue to endlessly work to reduce the population of bacteria, mold spores, yeast, algae and mildew.
Today, all the features of TruGranite sinks have been confirmed to be genuine, not just idle boasts. Certification, which gives the manufacturer the right to display the cUPC logo with its product, is earned or denied through a stringent testing process. It begins when products which are already on market shelves, and others removed from company stock, are inspected and tested in the IAPMO R&T lab.
The letters, “UPC”, are an acronym for the “Uniform Plumbing Code”. This code is a listing of particular specifications and guidelines set forth by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) which is designed to assure that products are safe for the consumer and the environment by meeting all established national and international criteria. The “c” in cUPC denotes that the product meets the Canadian, as well as the American, plumbing standards.
Because the cUPC stamp is so significant, MR Direct is extremely proud to note that not only are all their TruGranite sinks certified, but also the majority of their stainless steel, many of their porcelain, and almost all of their faucets bear this marking as well. Remaining sinks are still being evaluated in the test center and will likely be approved soon. All of the MR Direct TruGranite sinks can be reviewed by visiting http://www.MRDirectint.com.
