Seattle, WA (PRWEB) March 31, 2016 -- The PRCN Foundation, funds development organization of not-for-profit senior living provider Presbyterian Retirement Communities Northwest (PRCN), is pleased to welcome George Twiss as its new Executive Director. Mr. Twiss filled the recently vacated position last month and is moving full speed ahead with some exciting new initiatives for the organization.
"George is a great addition to the team,” said Torsten Hirche, PRCN President and CEO. “He is an experienced executive with a rich history and the talent to make things happen.”
Among the many goals for the PRCN Foundation, one of the biggest is to put the causes of healthy aging and affordable housing for seniors on the hearts and minds of Seattleites in 2016. “We compete with a lot of worthy causes for resources,” said Twiss, “but aging affects everyone, as does the need for safe, comfortable housing as we age, so I hope to bring these issues to the forefront.”
Mr. Twiss has wide-ranging experience in both corporate (Xerox, Prodigy, Seattle Film Works) and nonprofit (Northwest Center, University of Phoenix, Senior Services) business sectors. In addition, he has served on the Boards of University of Washington Foster School, Rotary Boys & Girls Club, Seattle Pacific University Business School, Senior Services, Community Services for the Blind, and Mary Queen of Peace Church. He has done extensive funding of the mission for nonprofits. Originally from Boston, Twiss holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Stonehill College and an MBA from Clark University.
