Hack The Bern, Powered by AngelHack: The First Hackathon in Support of Bernie Sanders is Declared A Huge Success
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 12, 2016 -- On April 9th - 10th, 2016 AngelHack in collaboration with Zach Schneider, Director of Tech for Bernie Sanders, and Thomas Gilroy of NY for Bernie held Hack The Bern; a hackathon to help create technology for Bernie’s grassroots campaign, while innovating new solutions for political engagement. The winning app is set to be implemented in the foreseeable future.
Bernie 360, the winning team, produced a virtual reality app that allows users to see 3D visualizations to bring them into the middle of a Bernie Sanders rally, without having to leave the house. How it works: it's made up of 14 GoPro HERO4s’ arranged to record two simultaneous 360 videos that allow for stereoscopic 3D playback no matter which direction the user looks. This application can be used with an Oculus rift, or other VR goggles, making it easily accessible to the public as VR is quickly gaining popularity.
