Executives were asked what they see as the 3 biggest developments impacting logistics in the next 5 years, the biggest challenges they’ve encountered to achieving growth and if there’s a tipping point where tech-driven logistics companies are going to start to out-strip traditional logistics providers.
When asked for the biggest challenges the industry is going to face in the next 5 years, Tommy Barnes, President of project44 highlighted the importance of technology. "In an industry typically resistant to change and innovation, supply chains functioning with antiquated technology will be at a significant disadvantage and unable to reduce costs, limit claims, increase operational effectiveness and improve customer service."
Percy Stocker, the Managing Director of Ubimax echoed the sentiment of a call for innovation. "I get the feeling that the significance of innovations is being more and more recognized across the whole industry and companies are gradually more open to the new trend."
