Perskie, Fendt & Cannaday Reap the Benefits of their Switch to BigHand Professional
(PRWEB) May 03, 2016 -- Personal injury and medical malpractice law firm, Perskie, Fendt & Cannaday, has selected BigHand’s cloud-based digital dictation solution, BigHand Professional with Bighand Speech Recognition, to replace their tape-based dictation system.
Prior to BigHand, users were struggling with the poor sound quality of tapes, with some dictations so unclear they couldn’t be transcribed accurately. Tapes were easily misplaced and the firm had no logical way to prioritize, process or report on their work. Additionally, the tapes that the firm was using had become increasingly difficult and costly to replace, making the whole set up more of a headache than a help.
BigHand was recommended to the firm by an attorney with previous experience using the technology. The advantages of BigHand Professional quickly became clear, with the key benefits highlighted as: the ability to submit dictations into a central workflow with no worry of recordings getting lost, having the option of using a smartphone to record and submit dictations at any time and a consistently high sound quality. In addition, the firm chose to rollout BigHand Speech Recognition to automate some transcription work to reduce the amount of manual typing and to speed up turnaround times.
Within 10 days from their initial contact with BigHand, all staff were up and running on the BigHand system. Amy Bianchino, Accounting and Paralegal at Perskie, Fendt & Cannaday comments: “We’ve been very impressed with the level of service we’ve received from BigHand. They are very knowledgeable about our industry and understood the issues we were experiencing with tapes and have provided us with a solution that really fits our needs.”
Following the implementation of BigHand, lawyers are able to send work directly to their support staff without the need to physically transport tapes, or to the BigHand Speech Recognition platform for automatic transcription when their secretary isn’t available. There’s increased visibility of workloads, with tracking and reporting capabilities, and work is being processed more quickly than ever before.
Amy concludes: “Making the switch to BigHand could not have been easier. The implementation and training was quick and thorough and the BigHand staff made sure we were all comfortable using it. We’re very pleased with the technology and also with BigHand for the support they’ve given us throughout this project - they’ve been amazing.”
