Boopsie Helps DC Public Library Connect with its Diverse Community through a Mobile App
SUNNYVALE, CA (PRWEB) May 17, 2016 -- Boopsie, Inc. today released a case study that explores its collaboration with the District of Columbia (DC) Public Library. The leading mobile platform-as-a-service provider for libraries worldwide worked with the Library to develop a customized app that provides convenient access to the Library’s services for the system’s users. Anyone may receive a free copy of the case study here.
Realizing the diversity of its community, DC Public Library knew it would need an accessible and highly customized app to serve its users, the sort of app that Boopsie has provided to over 4,000 libraries worldwide. Working with Boopsie, DC Public Library is leveraging partnerships with dozens of content providers like Elsevier and EBSCO and innovative technology that evolves with libraries’ needs to offer a seamless user experience on a native mobile interface. The case study explores how the mobile app has engaged the DC community.
“The nation’s capital is diverse. As its library, we serve a wide audience of information seekers, from
young professionals in their 20s and 30s to parents with young families. The simplicity of our Boopsie
app makes it very easy for all of our patrons to confidently use it — even those who aren’t particularly
familiar with mobile technology,” said Esti Brennan, Web and Social Media Specialist at DC Public Library. “As accessibility is very important to the Library, our main goal was to offer an app that bridges the digital divide. With Boopsie’s help, we were able to do just that.”
“With over 10,000 downloads and an average of over 1,000 unique users each month, DC Public Library’s usage data since its launch last summer speaks to how well the app has been received,” adds Megan Vizzini, Boopsie’s EVP of Sales and Marketing. “We’re excited to help DC Public Library continue to expand its reach in the community and to provide access to services where patrons are most — on their smartphones and tablets.”
