New Medical Marijuana Bill Could Benefit Mesothelioma Patients, According to Surviving Mesothelioma
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) June 03, 2016 -- Ohio is poised to become the 25th state to legalize a form of medical marijuana. Surviving Mesothelioma has just posted a new article on the Ohio bill and its potential implications for mesothelioma patients. Click here to read it now.
In a close vote, Ohio legislators have approved a medical marijuana bill and sent it on to the governor for his signature. If approved, the law could mean that people with mesothelioma and 21 serious conditions could have access to medical marijuana this Fall.
“The fact that there are so few viable treatment options for mesothelioma has driven many patients to explore the therapeutic possibilities of cannabis,” says Alex Strauss, Managing Editor of Surviving Mesothelioma.
Californian Andy Ashcraft, who was featured in a recent Surviving Mesothelioma article series, is one of those patients. The six-year mesothelioma survivor now uses cannabis oil daily.
“We know that mesothelioma patients are curious about this potential alternative and we want to support them with up-to-date and scientifically sound information on medicinal marijuana, including its availability and legality,” says Strauss.
The Ohio medical marijuana bill allows people with mesothelioma and other cancers, as well as those with serious chronic conditions such as intractable pain, Alzheimer’s and MS, to obtain marijuana in oils, tinctures, and patches. It would still be illegal to grow or smoke marijuana in Ohio, even for medical use.
