Advanced Biometric Security Software First of Its Kind

Plurilock, an advanced biometric cyber security software provider today announced that it has been issued Canadian Patent No. 2,535,542 for a system and method for determining a computer user profile from a motion-based input device.

Biotracker is the first biometric security software solution to provide continuous user authentication making a security breach unfeasible.

The approach consists of establishing distinctive profiles for computer users by determining how they use a motion-based input device such as a mouse and/or a keyboard. Individual users are identified based on the measurement and analysis of their typing rhythm and speed, as well as how they uniquely maneuver their mouse.

“We're thrilled to be adding this new Canadian patent to our growing IP portfolio, which further cements our lead in the continuous authentication space,” said Plurilock president Larry Cole.

Plurilock made recent headlines when it announced the appointment of former NSA Director, Mike McConnell to its Board of Directors. Additionally, the company received the OKR Financial Award for Best New Technology at the 39th Angel Forum held in Vancouver, BC last month.
