Nashville Companies Take Employee Wellness to the Next Level at the Fit Company Challenge
Nashville, Tennessee (PRWEB) June 16, 2016 -- On June 4, 2016 participants from companies located in the Nashville area took part in the Fit Company Challenge, a corporate wellness event hosted by the Fit Company Institute providing area companies an opportunity to show the importance of living a fit and healthy lifestyle. Participants worked in teams of 3 to 4 towards completing a variety of fitness stations tailored to challenge the team member’s current fitness level and earn points towards their company’s overall score.
For the inaugural Nashville event, Premise Health took the top spot in the Large Team division. “As a company, we believe in supporting our mission to help people get, stay and be well. A core element of our wellness strategy is to encourage participation and community activities and foster a culture of engagement,” said Steven Cardwell, Director of employee benefits at Premise Health. “The Fit Company Challenge provided an excellent opportunity for our team members to participate in key aspects of wellness including physical fitness, team work, social awareness and relationship building.”
RPM Transportation Consultants took the top spot in the Small Team division, and their team captain, Kayla Ferguson, was thrilled to get the team out for an event that mixed teamwork with fitness. “Participating in the Fit Company Challenge provided our employees with a unique opportunity to implement the healthy lifestyles we try to promote at RPM. It was great fun for us to work together to achieve common fitness goals all while encouraging each member of our team.”
On event date, with the help of over 25 volunteers assisting the contenders, participants challenged their strength, conditioning, power, agility, and ended with a test of endurance in order to show their companies and colleagues that they practice what they preach. Participants used their involvement to bring out company team members, and family members to cheer them on and promote the importance of having fun and effective corporate wellness programs at their companies.
The challenge was held at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
