Former Defense and Naval Intelligence Chief embarks on new IT security endeavor
FALLS CHURCH, Virginia (PRWEB) June 22, 2016 -- Former Defense and Naval Intelligence leader, John A. Marshall, recently joined 3Vesta, LLC, a Northern Virginia information technology (IT) firm, as Chief Operating Officer. His goal is to accelerate the company’s cyber and network security services for its Defense, Homeland Security, and Civilian customers.
Marshall's appointment parallels the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) initiatives for shared operational networks that are more secure and agile. He brings 38+ years of intelligence experience to 3Vesta. Previously, Marshall was the Deputy Director for the National System Geospatial Program Management Office at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), which is a combat support agency under the DoD and an intelligence agency of the United States Intelligence Community.
Prior to NGA, Marshall held high-profile Chief Technology Officer positions for the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff J2 Intelligence Directorate and the United States Joint Forces Command. He was also the Enterprise Systems Department Head for the Office of Naval Intelligence, accentuating his 27-year Naval Intelligence career, and is an honored Navy veteran.
"Joining 3Vesta allows me to enhance its innovative culture and bolster its IT security solutions by applying my experience from the intelligence arena," said Marshall. "This is a dynamic time where technology is the new combat zone. It takes smart teams and resourceful collaboration to help solve the challenges our nation faces safeguarding America and its citizens. 3Vesta's mission is to design solutions that improve command and control, provide flexibility, and achieve operational cost efficiencies for our customers," said Marshall.
The DoD and DHS are transitioning from multiple silo or stovepipe systems and architectures to an integrated environment that provides global interoperability. The goal is to improve delivery of information on demand anywhere, anytime to Warfighters, policy makers, and support personnel. The integration will enhance combat awareness and also contribute to the success of non-combat operations.
To achieve its mission, the Government will capitalize on the innovative technology solutions developed by industry partners. Mr. Marshall will lead 3Vesta to design and develop solutions that harden assets and eliminate vulnerabilities while improving mission effectiveness and business efficiencies for the Government.
