Boloco Teams Up with Big Papi’s Kitchen to Hit it Out of the Park for Children in Need
Boston, MA (PRWEB) June 27, 2016 -- When the name of your company is an abbreviation for “Boston Local Company,” you root for the home team with every fiber of your being, and every bean in your burrito. And when you find out that one of Boston’s baseball heroes is retiring – who has consumed countless game day Boloco burritos over the years -you celebrate him the only way New England’s best-loved, home grown burrito restaurant knows how: joining with Boloco fans to give back.
Boloco is super excited to partner with Big Papi’s Kitchen and the David Ortiz Children’s Fund to launch the “Big Papi’s Kitchen Burrito” (BPK Burrito). For the sale of every BPK Burrito, $1 will be donated to the David Ortiz Children’s Fund which helps children in both New England and the Dominican Republic who do not have access to the critical pediatric services, including life-saving surgeries, they need. The goal is to raise $34,000 (go #34!), all of which will go to the David Ortiz Children’s Fund as a ‘thank you’ to David Ortiz for everything he has done for New England.
Big Papi told us how his burrito has gotta be done: the Big Papi’s Kitchen Burrito is made with Big Papi’s Kitchen signature fresh salsa, scratch-made guacamole, pinto beans, sour cream, brown rice, lettuce, and cheddar cheese. If you really want it “Big Papi-Style”, you’ll add white-meat chicken but Boloco offers up a variety of meats or grilled veggies to finish your burrito off. The Big Papi’s Kitchen Burrito (and bowl) is available at all Boloco locations starting on June 27, 2016, through the last game of the 2016 season.
“Getting to customize a special burrito for one of our local heroes is a pretty big honor, and to have it go to such a great cause makes it even more special,” explained John Pepper, CEO and co-founder of Boloco. “We’re all going to have fun making a positive difference this summer. Ortiz is killing it this year, too, which makes it all the better!”
“We are really excited to work with Boloco to launch the Big Papi’s Kitchen Burrito. It is great to see so many local Boston companies show their support and help raise money for the David Ortiz Children’s Fund this season,” said Tiffany Ortiz, board member of the David Ortiz Children’s Fund.
Like the Boys of Summer, this special burrito won’t be around for long. Boloco will retire the special burrito the night of the last Red Sox game. Fingers crossed that we’ll all be raising a Big Papi Kitchen Burrito in celebration of another World Championship.
