Tokio Marine HCC - MIS Group partnered with Weather Analytics to develop Atlas Travelcast™, a planning tool featuring a “Misery Index” for a wide selection of golf courses located around the world. Expected weather conditions are based on a proprietary process of analyzing patterns in long-term historical weather data.
How Travelcast works:
Atlas Travelcast allows the user to enter the course and dates they want to play golf. Atlas Travelcast then presents a “Misery Index” score based on typical weather conditions for that day. The scores range between “miserable” and “optimal,” and include likely temperatures, wind gusts, and typical precipitation amounts. Atlas Travelcast provides alternative dates and courses with higher scores, and also shows the best months of the year for that particular course.
