New Book “The Holy Spirit” Presents the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) August 03, 2016 -- Holy Fire Publishing (http://www.holyfirepublishing.com) releases “The Holy Spirit” (Paperback, U.S. $10.99, ISBN: 978-1-60383-524-4). Philip O. Akinyemi, Ph.D., delves the ministry of the Holy Spirit and the necessity of baptism with the Holy Spirit for effective service in the believer’s life.
Dr. Akinyemi’s book “The Holy Spirit” describes Him as the third Person of the triune God, to be worshipped and honored just like the Father and the Son. It presents His works in creation, including His role in the Old Covenant economy, His ministry in the lives of believers in the New Covenant, and His work in reproving the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. It discusses the Holy Spirit’s role in the life of Jesus from His formation to His resurrection. It delves closely into the meaning of the Greek word parakletos, translated as Comforter, and looks at His ministry in the lives of believers as Advocate, Counselor, Teacher, Comforter, Intercessor and Helper. It discusses the necessity of baptism with the Holy Spirit for effective service in the believer’s life, and offers a detailed analysis of the nine gifts of the Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit produced in the believer’s life as he or she abides in Jesus.
Baptism with the Holy Spirit began at Pentecost; it’s not only for 1st Century believers but continues today as the promise of the Father God for His children. Those who haven’t received the baptism of the Holy Spirit will discover that this baptism is different from water baptism, along with the steps to receive it and to begin exercising Agape love, God’s kind of love. Readers will be encouraged to honor and worship the Holy Spirit, and depend totally on Him for effective service.
“Many people are ignorant of the Personhood of the Holy Spirit. Some take Him as a power that one can use at will. No! He is the third Person of the Godhead who deserves our love, worship and honor. Jesus the Son of God depended utterly upon the Holy Spirit in His earthly ministry. Anyone ready to do exploits for God in these last days before the return of our Lord must do likewise. The purpose of this book is to enlighten people of who the Holy Spirit is: He is a divine Person, who is available to help in every step of our life, in every stage of our service, and when we are faced with Satan and sin.”—Philip O. Akinyemi, Ph.D.
Dr. Akinyemi shares his experiences with the Holy Spirit’s leading in his life: as a poor youth, God led him to a city and provided him accommodation and a job because of his obedience, and orchestrated the actions of others for His plan in his life. The Holy Spirit stood by him as an Advocate in a court case and has been his Comforter since his wife’s death three years past.
Philip O. Akinyemi holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Detroit Mercy, and a master’s degree in theological studies from Michigan Theological Seminary. He has worked for Ford Motor Company as a technical expert and served as an adjunct at the University of Detroit and Lawrence Technological University, Michigan. He currently resides with his son in the Pittsburgh area of Pennsylvania. He served as an ordained elder and Sunday school superintendent at the Apostolic Church, Kaduna, Nigeria; Sunday school teacher at Word of Faith International Christian Church, Detroit, Michigan; an ordained assistant pastor at Church of the Lamb, Farmington, Michigan; and as a radio Bible teacher, Christ the King Evangelical Ministry, Southfield, Michigan. He has five children and six grandchildren; his beloved wife, Rachel, now rests in the bosom of Jesus Christ.
