AMA to Host Aviation Adventure Day in Celebration of National Model Aviation Day
Muncie, IN (PRWEB) August 04, 2016 -- The Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) will host Aviation Adventure Day, in conjunction with National Model Aviation Day, on August 13, 2016, at the International Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, IN. The event is free and will include activities for all ages.
Aviation Adventure Day will be packed with entertaining activities for the entire family. Attendees will learn while having fun by building make-and-take model airplanes and kites, and launch model rockets. In addition to the hands-on activities, attendees can tour the National Model Aviation Museum, try their hand at a flight simulator, and fly a real model airplane. Youth full-scale airplane rides will also be available for kids 8-17 through the Anderson chapter of the EAA Young Eagles. Space is limited and parents can register their children online. The first 100 kids in attendance will receive a free T-shirt.
The AMA will also host its first Community Takeoff Challenge as part of its Aviation Adventure Day. Local companies, nonprofit organizations, clubs, and groups of friends are encouraged to participate by building their own catapult-launch gliders to compete for a $250 cash prize.
