Nordic Heat Pumps Releases High Temperature Hot Water Heat Pump
Petitcodiac, New Brunswick (PRWEB) September 09, 2016 -- Maritime Geothermal Ltd, makers of Nordic Heat Pumps, announces the release of the new high-temperature hot water heat pump, the WC Series. This unique geothermal heat pump can produce 160°F (70°C) hot water from a geothermal ground loop or open water well.
Hot water baseboards and radiators are one of the most common types of heat distribution systems in North America, second only to forced air heating. Homeowners and business owners alike have consistently chosen this heating method for decades due to its high level of comfort.
Unfortunately, for many homeowners, the only way to heat the water for this distribution system is by using oil. This once cost-effective source of heat is now becoming a liability for the large number of North Americans relying on fossil fuels as their heating source.
“We received phone calls almost daily from homeowners and building owners with hot water baseboards or radiators, who were looking for ways to lower their utility bills, and there weren't any options, until now,” says company President Glenn Kaye.
“Due to this demand, Maritime Geothermal Ltd. developed a geothermal heat pump that will heat water hot enough for hot water baseboard heaters, cast iron radiators, or dedicated domestic hot water heating. This new heat pump will allow those homeowners, who previously had no options, to lower their heating bills and free themselves from fossil fuels.”
About Geothermal Heat Pumps
Geothermal heat pumps (sometimes called ground source heat pumps) use the warm earth as a heat source in the winter. The heat pump harvests heat using a series of plastic pipes buried in the ground with fluid circulating through them and uses a vapour compression refrigeration cycle to move heat from the pipes into the home in the form of hot water or hot air. Geothermal heat pumps are the most energy-efficient technology on the market today for home heating.
About the WC Series
The WC Series heat pump produces hot water up to 160°F (70°C) from source temperatures as low as 25°F(-4°C). The outgoing water temperature is ideal for hot water baseboards, radiators, or dedicated domestic hot water heating. The WC Series accomplishes these higher than average temperatures by using a dual refrigerant system and can reach efficiencies up to 280%; higher than most air source heat pumps.
