Sfumatura Launches a Luxurious New Line of Wall Art
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 17, 2016 -- Textile brand Sfumatura unveils a new line of luxurious wall coverings set to impact the way designers view innovative interior design. The new line launch will take place Thursday, September 22, between 2:00 PM - 9:00 P.M. in the Tucker Robbins showroom located at 200 Lexington Avenue, Suite 504. Designers of the new line will be present for meet and greets as well as interviewing opportunities.
Sfumatura received its beginnings in the world of entertainment and theater scenery, as the names Donald Southern and Cliff Schorr have long been synonymous with theatrical, scenic, large-scale wall coverings that transport the viewer variously to a Venetian palazzo or an exclusive contemporary club scene in New York City. The two artists met in 1985 while working on the film “F/X” and quickly realized their creative synchronicity, which has resulted in the formation and launch of their new business Sfumatura.
Over a period of 25 years, Cliff Schorr's experimentation with large-scale pieces of wall covering for the film business as well as private homes has enabled him to eliminate the traditional 27-inch seams, making it possible to have full-scale, seamless walls of any size! The hand-painted textile wall coverings are created offsite and transported to the location of installation, keeping the client’s premises in pristine condition.
About Sfumatura - The Product
The Sfumatura textile has the look/feel of expensive tactile suede, with richly saturated color thanks to the multiple layers of paint applied to the muslin over a period of several days with intermittent drying periods. The Sfumatura lines make it possible for clients to choose from a wide range of neutral/pastel colors, as well as bold dynamic colors and even the unique look of a natural stone wall in a random pattern – as shown in the Tucker Robbins showroom.
The appeal of a Sfumatura wall covering is obvious—the aesthetics of the material turns an ordinary space into an interior of luxurious glamour, whether it is a traditional setting or a modern/contemporary one. The practicality of providing a one-of-a-kind wall without having to match seams, as well as the off-site creation of an entire wall, appeals to the most discerning interior designers and their clients. A Sfumatura wall covering follows the contours of any wall, with the advantage of covering imperfections and disfigured walls with the richness of a natural material.
