Duke Energy CEO Lynn Good to Speak at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School
Chapel Hill, N.C. (PRWEB) September 22, 2016 -- Lynn Good, chairman, president and CEO of Duke Energy, will give a free, public talk as a part of the Dean’s Speaker Series at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School on Oct. 4.
Good, who leads one of the largest electric energy companies in the U.S., is listed as No. 11 of Fortune’s "Most Powerful Women in Business." In 2016, she became the first regulated utility CEO LinkedIn Influencer, and in 2013 was named as one of the 10 most influential people in the energy sector.
Under her leadership, Duke Energy has intensified its focus on serving its customers and communities well while leading the way to a safe, secure and responsible energy future.
Before becoming CEO in 2013, she served as Duke Energy’s chief financial officer and led its commercial energy businesses during its initial development of renewable energy projects. She began her utility career in 2003 with Cincinnati-based Cinergy, which merged with Duke Energy three years later. Prior to 2003, she was a partner at two international accounting firms, including a long career with Arthur Andersen.
Good is a member of the Boeing board of directors and a board member of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations. She serves on the executive committee of both the Edison Electric Institute's board and the Nuclear Energy Institute. She also serves on the boards of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and the Foundation for the Carolinas in Charlotte. Good holds bachelor of science degrees in systems analysis and accounting from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
