New Video Series Kicks-Off Extreme Eyebrow Makeover Challenge In Time for Alopecia Awareness Month
ATLANTA, GA (PRWEB) September 30, 2016 -- Eyebrow specialist, Joi Mebane with The Look by Joi Cosmetics, recently launched an insightful video series, in which she performs her microblading techniques on three women suffering from conditions impairing them from achieving their ideal eyebrows. The video series, entitled "Makeover My Eyebrows", presents Joi conquering the challenge of making over 3 clients with varying degrees of eyebrow hair loss caused by Alopecia Universalis, Trichotillomania and naturally thin eyebrows. Through the art of microblading (aka eyebrow tattooing), Joi is able to create the perfect eyebrows on all 3 sibjects, which will last for up to 18-months. Beyond the 3 initial makeover challenges, the video series will feature more eyebrow makeovers featuring Joi’s microblading and other advanced eyebrow techniques. Opportunities for qualified candidates to be featured in an upcoming episode are available by emailing photos of eyebrows (or lack thereof) along with personal stories to thelookbyjoi(at)gmail(dot)com. All "Makeover My Eyebrows" episodes can be seen on Joi’s official Facebook Fan Page @TheLookbyJoi.
“Seeing that a lot of women come to my kiosk at Greenbriar Mall [Atlanta] conditions like thinning eyebrows, I wanted to create an online video series that shows the benefits and art of microblading, as well as how it is a great solution for those who couldn’t imagine ever having eyebrows without the chore of drawing them on daily,” says Joi Mebane of The Look by Joi Cosmetics.“ No longer just reserved for celebrities and models, the art of microblading and its transformative benefits are awesome for ALL women; particularly those dealing with unbearable eyebrow challenges.”
THE LOOK BY JOI MAKEOVER MY EYEBROWS VIDEO SERIES KICKS-OFF with the following:
MEET TAMEKA EPISODE #1 | Release Date: 9/25: In honor of Alopecia Awereness Month (September), this episode introduces viewers to Alopecia sufferer Tameka who noticed the thinning of hair on her scalp 10 years ago. After several years of treating her hair loss with steroid shots to her scalp, she decided to discontinue her injections. Shortly after, Tameka was diagnosed with Alopecia Universalis, causing her to completely lose all of the hair on her body. Tameka managed by concealing her condition with wigs and makeup, and even though her eyelashes stated to grow back in 2015, the rest of her body was still affected. Now, after having her eyebrows microbladed by Joi, she looks forward to not having to spend as much time making them up due to their realistic appearance.
MEET CAROLYN EPISODE #2 | Release Date: 10/02— In this episode, viewers will meet Carolyn who came to Joi wanting to change the way others saw her. For more than 23 years, Carolyn has been heavily affected by Trichotillomania, an impulse control disorder characterized as a compulsive desire to pick at one’s own body hair. The disorder, triggered by stress and anxiety, has caused her to lose a substantial amount of eyelash and eyebrow hair as a result of her excessive plucking. The born stress from the death of her mother earlier this year has caused Carolyn’s excessive picking to go into full overdrive. Now her hair is struggling to grow back. On a whim, she reached out to Joi hoping for an early birthday present — a gift of normalcy. “I would love the feeling of feeling beautiful without them wiping off, or getting oily or rubbed off,” she wrote in her email to Joi. “My birthday is September 10th, and this would be a dream come true.” Her wish now granted, Carolyn comes out of the procedure, feeling more triumphant than ever as she states, “Feeling free. Feeling accepted. Feeling like I’m not being stared at because I don’t have facial hair.”
MEET MIMI EPISODE #3 | Release Date: 10/09: In the final video, we have Mimi who represents the woman with sparse eyebrows that spends a lot of time getting her eyebrows just right. She first noticed her thinning eyebrows in high school and came to Joi for a solution to help shorten the amount of time she spends on filling-in her eyebrows every morning, which is around 45 minutes daily. After the procedure, she looks in the mirror and gasps, “Oh my God, I love them!”
