KIDZMANIA 2016 Will Feature More Hands-On STEM Activities Through Collaboration With North Central Iowa STEM Hub
Fort Dodge, Iowa (PRWEB) September 29, 2016 -- Linking Families and Communities is partnering with Diamond Sponsor, North Central Iowa STEM Hub to expand the fun with more STEM activities for KIDZMANIA 2016 which will be held at the Crossroads Mall in Fort Dodge, Iowa on October 15th.
North Central Iowa STEM Hub at Iowa State University is one of six Iowa STEM Regions established in 2011 with the goal of increasing student STEM interest and achievement across the state. Such achievement is critical to regaining Iowa’s historic legacy as a leader in education and workforce development. In fact, STEM is a vital economic development advantage for quality job growth in our state. STEM graduates are in great demand to meet current and future workforce needs.
North Central Iowa STEM sponsors STEM Festivals, such as KIDZMANIA, across the region to provide a free fun event for families to learn more about STEM opportunities both in the classroom as well as in the local workforce. The students are engaged in hands-on activities and the adults are learning more about potential STEM career paths for their children from businesses, non-profits, post-secondary schools and programs in their area. The data gathered at such events overwhelming indicates increased interest and knowledge about opportunities for youth in their local areas of the state as a result of participation in at STEM festival.
KIDZMANIA 2016 will be held on October 15th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Crossroads Mall in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The Mall will be filled with various activities for everyone to participate in along with entertainment at the center court.

My response is that it is an integrated approach to learning where STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics,” states Paul Gibbons, North Central Iowa Regional STEM Manager. “STEM plays a very important role in preparing our youth for the jobs of the future.”
