Soldiers' Angels Earns Highest Rating From Nation's Most-Utilized Charity Evaluator
San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) October 05, 2016 -- National nonprofit, Soldiers’ Angels, has been providing support to American military service members and veterans for over 13 years. Founded in June of 2003 by the mother of two American soldiers, the organization began as a grassroots effort to send care packages to deployed troops in Iraq. Since then, the organization has blossomed into a multi-million dollar effort to provide support to: service members; wounded service members; caregivers of wounded service members; veterans of all eras; and the families of service members and veterans. This dynamic range of support is achieved through a network of hundreds of thousands of “Angel” volunteers who participate in a variety of unique programs and services. In 2013, Soldiers’ Angels underwent a complete organizational restructuring, bringing aboard Amy Palmer as their new President and CEO. Palmer is a leader in the military nonprofit environment and has been hailed as an expert on military family matters and veteran support. Since the restructuring, Palmer has consistently led the organization in an upward direction after several years of declining revenue. Soldiers’ Angels is now the largest volunteer network of any charity of its kind in the country and maintains an efficiency rating of 97%, which is significantly above that of the average nonprofit organization.
On October 1, Soldiers’ Angels earned four stars, the highest rating you can achieve, from the nation’s largest and most-utilized charity evaluator, Charity Navigator. This is the first time in the thirteen year history of the organization that the four-star rating has been achieved on Charity Navigator. With this four-star rating, Soldiers’ Angels earned: 100 out of 100 for Accountability and Transparency; 92.50 out of 100 for Financial; and 94.69 for an Overall Score and Rating. “Earning these great ratings and the fourth star from Charity Navigator is a huge step for our organization,” said Amy Palmer, President and CEO of Soldiers’ Angels. “We have been working diligently over the past three years to turn the organization in a direction that provides more support to our service members and veterans, while also utilizing the support of our donors more efficiently. With this rating, we hope to inspire trust in more individuals and donors so that we can continue our growth and, in turn, support even more service members, veterans, and their families.”
