Cloudify Demonstrates OPNFV Solution for Fully Automated and Orchestrated VNF Deployments at OpenStack Summit Barcelona
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 05, 2016 -- As leading telcos globally choose OpenStack for Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), Cloudify and Orange Labs are demonstrating an approach to full-lifecycle management and orchestration of OPNFV deployments on OpenStack at the OpenStack Summit in Barcelona later this month.
Orange Labs has taken a leading role in NFV for telecom-focused open source projects. These include OPNFV as well as AT&T’s ECOMP project. In the OpenStack Summit presentation, Orange Labs will discuss its use of Cloudify as an open source orchestrator for a project centered on functional testing of a data-intensive virtual IMS VNF throughout its lifecycle—including full scale and heal.
Arthur Berezin, director of product for Cloudify at GigaSpaces, will join Morgan Richomme, network architect for Innovative Services at Orange Labs, and Valentin Boucher, apprentice network architect for Orange Labs, in presenting “Project: OPNFV - Base System Functionality Testing of a vIMS on OpenStack,” On October 26 at the OpenStack Summit at the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona (CCIB) in Barcelona, Spain.
This session will dive into the functional testing of a virtual IMS system based on Metaswitch's Clearwater, coupled with the open source tools Cloudify and Jenkins, for full-lifecycle orchestration and management, including the monitoring, healing, scaling and software upgrade of such a complex system.
Cloudify is an open source orchestrator used by a growing group of large telecoms and large network operators pursuing NFV. The Cloudify Telecom Edition, based on the telecom-friendly TOSCA standard, will be delivered with the ARIA TOSCA Orchestration Engine at its core, an open source and open governance embeddable reference implementation of TOSCA targeted for NFV users.
Cloudify, as the only open source NFV MANO leveraging TOSCA’s native multi-VIM interoperability capabilities, has built-in support and blueprints for OpenStack, as well as the entire VMware stack, including vCloud Director, VMware Integrated OpenStack and vSphere. It also enables extensibility of hybrid stacks, workloads and microservices, as well as bursting to public clouds for disaster recovery applications.
GigaSpaces will exhibit at booth C4 at the OpenStack Summit. Cloudify community members will conduct hands-on, live demos of the NFV orchestration capabilities of Cloudify Telecom Edition.
Also at the OpenStack Summit, Sharone Zitzman, director of marketing for GigaSpaces, will participate with other OpenStack community leaders in the panel, "Lessons from the Community: What I've Learned As An OpenStack Day Organizer” on October 26, as one of the organizers of the annual OpenStack Day Israel.
