Catena Partners with ARM for IoT Connectivity Solutions
Delft, Netherlands (PRWEB) October 25, 2016 -- The collaboration will provide SoC designers with technologies for the Bluetooth 5 and 802.15.4 markets, enabling them to integrate the increased range, speed and capacity that these standards offer in next generation IoT devices.
Connectivity is fundamental to the scalability of the IoT and the process of integrating radios needs to be simplified to connect new generations of physical devices. Radios require specialist skills to design, integrate and maintain as standards change and process nodes evolve, with flexibility required to address the different needs of ultra-low power embedded devices. This collaboration utilizes the flexibility offered by the new ARM® Cordio® solutions by enabling SoC designers to select the radio front end that best fits their requirements on the process node of their choice.
“The Catena team has a proven track record in developing and delivering RF communication IP and we welcome them as a partner for ARM Cordio radio IP,” said Bob Morris, vice president of marketing, Wireless Business Unit, ARM. “IoT devices span several verticals and each of our mutual partners have unique application, software and foundry requirements. Our partnership with Catena will provide SoC designers with an expanded choice of process nodes to build their Bluetooth, ZigBee and Thread devices.”
“Utilizing ARM’s worldwide ecosystem will enable Catena to further expand its position as a supplier of high performance RF and wireless IP,” said Kavé Kianush, CTO and vice president of Catena. “For the IoT to be successful we need to see many technologies from various disciplines working together seamlessly. Partnering with ARM will accelerate this journey as it will enhance the accessibility of wireless technology to a wider range of companies developing products for the growing IoT market.”
