Will make credit and risk managment products available to startups in order to advance innovation in FinTech

FinTech Sandbox today announced that Moody’s Analytics will join it as a Data Partner to make financial data available to FinTech startups selected by the Boston-based nonprofit.

For entrepreneurs in financial services, accessing data and infrastructure can be prohibitively expensive and complicated. FinTech Sandbox facilitates innovation by making these resources available to qualified FinTech startups for free at the point when access is most impactful. Sandbox residents, in return, are expected to collaborate with each other, sharing learnings and advancements that benefit the FinTech ecosystem. Participants in the Sandbox program pay no fees and no equity is taken.

Moody's Analytics offers leading software, content, and research for credit and economic analysis and financial risk management. Jean Donnelly, Executive Director of FinTech Sandbox, said: “The Moody’s Analytics name is synonymous with leadership in risk management solutions. We are very pleased to bring our resident startups best-in-class products in the risk space.”

“We are excited to help fuel innovation in the vibrant FinTech community by partnering with FinTech Sandbox. Our unique credit data will enable entrepreneurs to build cutting-edge products and applications that will shape the future of financial services,” said Keith Berry, Executive Director – Emerging Business, Moody’s Analytics.

Moody’s Analytics is making three product offerings available to FinTech Sandbox residents:

The CreditEdge® model enables firms to manage the credit risk of a portfolio of listed firms, bonds, and sovereigns globally. It combines the industry’s most accurate probability of default model with cutting-edge analytics to deliver diverse tools that can meet many business needs. FinTech Sandbox residents can use the CreditEdge model to test credit default risk and value global debt instruments.

Moody’s Market Implied Ratings (MIR®)
Moody’s MIR platform provides credit risk and relative value signals from four sources: corporate bonds, credit default swaps, equity markets, and ratings from Moody’s Investors Service (MIS). The MIR platform presents differences in opinion about company credit risk and relative value for 4,000 MIS-rated firms and 11,000 MIS-rated securities globally. Sandbox startups will have access to the MIR platform’s entire database or a subset of the data for custom analysis via the MIR platform’s Bulk Data Downloads.

Ratings Delivery Service
Moody’s Ratings Delivery Service (RDS) is a family of solutions covering all current Moody's Investors Service issuer and issuer-related ratings. RDS offers Sandbox residents the convenience, speed, and accuracy of a direct ratings feed to their databases, and matching with industry standard identifiers.
