North America's Only Underground Drop Ride Now Open Beneath San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) November 02, 2016 -- Thousands of thrill-seeking fans attended last weekend’s launch of “Escape Alcatraz” – North America’s only underground drop ride and show at The San Francisco Dungeon on iconic Fisherman’s Wharf. Installation of the new $2M attraction required breaking through multiple walls and several floors to accommodate the custom-built freefall tower that simulates a daring escape jump from Alcatraz prison into the frigid waters of San Francisco Bay.
On Friday, October 28 at 11 a.m., The San Francisco Dungeon’s General Manager Colin Thomas ceremoniously ripped a knotted rope of prison sheets to signal the official opening of “Escape Alcatraz” while welcoming hundreds of costumed fans to be the first to ride. The below sea level attraction creates a brand-new finale to the existing 60 minute San Francisco Dungeon experience complete with authentic and historic props, sets, script, characters and costumes.
