Wisconsin Hospitality Group, 35 Wisconsin Applebee’s Restaurants Continue Their Commitment to Thanking Service Members with Complimentary Meals on Veterans Day
Waukesha, WI (PRWEB) November 05, 2016 -- Wisconsin Hospitality Group and its 35 Wisconsin-based Applebee’s restaurants are proud to announce their ninth annual Veterans Day campaign. Active and retired servicemen and women will have the opportunity to receive a free entrée at any of the company-owned locations on Friday, November 11, 2016.
Veterans will have their choice of seven different menu items, including the Butcher’s Meat and Potatoes, American Standard All-in Burger, Double Crunch Shrimp, Three-Cheese Chicken Penne, Fiesta Lime Chicken, Chicken Tenders Platter and the Oriental Chicken Salad, as a way for WHG and its staff to say thank you for the service and sacrifice of our American Heroes.
WHG served meals to more than 1,600 veterans in 2015, and the staff hopes to surpass that number in 2016. Since the inception of the campaign, it has been WHG’s honor and privilege to have served more than 100,000 veterans and active duty service members across Wisconsin.
“We are proud to serve and employ the men and women of our Armed Forces,” Mark Dillon, president and CEO of Wisconsin Hospitality Group, says, “and while we can never repay their service and sacrifice, this is a small step toward showing them how much we care. We are proud to once again serve the tens of thousands of veterans that come to our restaurants.”
To receive their meal, guests will need to provide proof of service, which includes: U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform, DD214, Citation or Commendation.
WHG will also be raising funds on Veterans Day with proceeds benefiting the local Honor Flight Hubs. Guests will be able to donate through purchases of Honor Flight icons for $1, $5, $10, $20, or $25.
Throughout the last 18 years, WHG, a local restaurant franchise group, through its Applebee’s and Pizza Hut restaurants, have been able to raise and donate more than $2.4 million in combined gifts to local charities including Children's Hospital, ProHealth Care, World Hunger Relief, Honor Flight and One Heartland.
The company has established a non-profit foundation, WHG Cares, to centralize all of the company’s fundraising efforts and to provide opportunities for tax deductible donations in the future. During all of WHG’s campaigns, the company stays committed to keeping costs down and to providing 100% of the campaign net proceeds to its charitable partners.
Wisconsin Hospitality Group owns and operates 107 restaurants across Wisconsin and northern Illinois. WHG has grown in sales to become the largest food service franchise company based in the state. Headquartered in Waukesha, WHG operates 35 Applebee’s Grill & Bar restaurants and 72 Pizza Hut Restaurants, all committed to guest satisfaction and community support.
