Veteran-Owned Business Offers Special Opportunities for Veterans
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) November 08, 2016 -- HandyVets Inc., a St. Charles-based, veteran-owned company specializing in handyman, property maintenance and repair solutions, LED lighting, and surveillance systems, was founded with a two-fold mission: empower veterans and provide customers with exceptional service. This Veterans Day, the company is announcing a rebrand, raising awareness about the difficulties veterans face, and offering solutions.
Every technician employed by HandyVets has served in the United States military and has experienced the many challenges presented after returning from duty. Among these challenges are the facts that 75 percent of veterans have less than a bachelor’s degree and one in ten veterans are disabled. Often, individuals with a VA disability status are considered a liability by companies.
“Our military men and women typically enroll after high school when many of their peers are going to college,” said Ben Murphy, HandyVets’ Founder. “If their military career is cut short due to a physical injury, they often struggle to provide for themselves and their families. They can either choose to start over and go to college, go to trade school, or find a job paying minimum wage. We provide a better option.”
HandyVets hires those with military experience, and fills in skills gaps with on-the-job training and continuing education programs. By allowing veterans to build on the invaluable skills they acquired while serving our country, HandyVets helps them create a viable post-military career path.
