FIU’s Global Strategic Communications Master’s Program Partners with Optimum7 to Improve Curriculum
Miami, Florida (PRWEB) November 22, 2016 -- Florida International University’s (FIU) School of Journalism + Mass Communication’s Global Strategic Communication (GSC) graduate degree program has partnered with Optimum7, an Internet technology consultation and training service agency to help teach graduate students about the fundamentals of digital marketing and creative methodologies to become more visible in the competitive world of eCommerce.
“Thanks to technology, we’re able to communicate with each other on a global basis in a matter of seconds,” Grizelle De Los Reyes, Director of FIU’s GSC Creative Track Program said. “Companies need to be more visible on the Internet and that’s why we’ve created this program, so that we can help students get real world experience in both the offline and digital marketing worlds.”
The GSC creative track curriculum is an intensive 39-credit program that takes approximately 1½ years or 5 consecutive 16-week academic semesters to complete. After a considerable amount of guidance, FIU students are assigned specific courses that make up a tailored curriculum designed to fit their career interest.
The strict curriculum was carefully designed to merge the academic courses taught by FIU with the creative skills courses of Miami Ad School (MAS), an advertising school where students are taught to develop ideas, advertising campaigns, websites, apps, videos, etc. FIU has recently renewed their contract with MAS where enrolled students are scheduled to take 6 courses on their Wynwood campus and 7 courses at FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus.
Additionally, students will have the privilege to learn from Optimum7’s COO, Duran Inci, who will facilitate monthly class sessions instructing graduate students on how to strategically write engaging content in regards to authority optimization and online reputation, how to become an expert in your field, getting the best job in the industry that interests you in this digital age, and other digital marketing methodologies that involve having a strong social media presence.
“This innovative program incorporates hybrid courses that blend a traditional classroom lecture with in-class blog writing and content creation workshops under the guidance of an accomplished digital marketing entrepreneur,”
De Los Reyes said.
Inci has spoken at major technology conferences like SMX, eMarketing, Pubcon and SES to discuss trends in Digital Marketing & Technology. His articles have been featured in Forbes, Inc, Huffington Post, Wired, Smashing Magazine, CNN Money, and more.
“With this uniquely crafted curriculum, we are confident that our students enrolled in the GSC creative track program will get a quality education with a rewarding real world experience,” De Los Reyes said.
