ParkiFi Launches Real-time Parking App to Help Reduce Downtown Traffic and Pollution
Denver, CO (PRWEB) November 15, 2016 -- ParkiFi®—a powerful, real-time parking finder and navigation platform—today announced the launch of its iOS and Android app, which is available for download on any mobile device through the App Store and Google Play. The ParkiFi app directs users to the nearest open parking spaces in garages and surface lots throughout downtown Denver. The app will be rolling out in other Denver neighborhoods and nationwide in 2017.
More than 3 million people live in the Denver metro area, and more than 16.4 million visitors come downtown annually, creating huge demand for parking.
“New technologies and ideas are emerging that are helping our residents reach their destinations more quickly and conveniently,” Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock said. “As a Denver Gazelle, ParkiFi is a great example of the incredible business ideas and solutions that are helping each and every one of us live better, easier lives.”
More parking spots will be added to the ParkiFi network monthly. In early 2017, ParkiFi will launch automatic payment integration, metered parking availability, and dynamic spot re-routing capabilities, among other features.
“One out of every three cars in downtown Denver is circling around looking for parking, which creates unnecessary traffic and makes parking a nightmare,” said Ryan Sullivan, CEO and co-founder of ParkiFi. “ParkiFi is committed to taking the stress out of parking and we’re excited to launch our solution just in time for the holidays, when parking is especially difficult.”
To celebrate the launch of the app, ParkiFi will pay for all metered parking on Larimer Square (on Larimer St. between 14th St. and 15th St.) from 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 18 through midnight on Sunday, Nov. 20. For more information on the event, click here.
Additionally, on Nov. 25, ParkiFi will kick off a #12DaysofParking campaign to give Denverites the gift of free parking for popular downtown holiday events, such as the Parade of Lights, Grand Illumination, and The Nutcracker, among others. ParkiFi will be giving users access to free parking in random lots downtown from Friday, Nov. 25 through Tuesday, Dec. 6. For more information, click here.

About ParkiFi:
ParkiFi is a Denver-based technology company founded in 2014 by Ryan Sullivan and Rishi Malik in response to a critical insight about downtown traffic. Approximately one out of three cars on the road in downtown Denver is actively looking for a parking spot. Finding that spot takes an average of fifteen minutes of avoidable driving. ParkiFi was created to take this stress out of people’s lives and reduce the environmental impact of driving. With the ParkiFi app, users simply input an address into the real-time parking map and the app’s parking spot finder directs them to open spaces in garages and lots. Metered street parking will be added in early 2017. The iOS and Android app launched in downtown Denver in November 2016 and will roll out in other Denver neighborhoods and nationwide in 2017. ParkiFi was recognized as a 2016 “Denver Gazelles” company by the Denver Office of Economic Development. The company has raised $13.5 million in venture capital to-date.
