Courtney Newman Crowned Miss Grand Texas

Houston native, Courtney Newman, to represent the state of Texas in the 2017 Miss Grand USA pageant.

“It is such an honor. I really look forward to what’s ahead of us,” Miss Newman told pageant organizers.

Courtney Newman, a 24-year-old blue-eyed blonde from Houston has been selected Miss Grand Texas and will represent the state in the 2017 Miss Grand United States Pageant, to be held in the United States on May 29, 2017. The eventual winner goes on to the Miss Grand International Pageant in Vietnam in October 2017.

“It is such an honor. I really look forward to what’s ahead of us,” Miss Newman told pageant organizers when it was announced she had won the title. Miss Newman has extensive international modeling experience, having participated in numerous swimsuit competitions and represented Houston at the Swimsuit USA International finals, where she placed in the top 10 out of an international field of beauties. Courtney has studied at Lone Star College in Cy-Fair, Texas and is a life insurance agent at Primerica. In her personal time, she enjoys writing her fashion blog "Chronicles of a Shopaholic" on her Instagram page.

The Miss Grand International Pageant was founded by Nawat Itsaragrisil, a Thai TV show host, professional traveler, and producer. The pageant’s aims are to promote world peace, and titleholders actively work to end violence and war across the globe.
