Premier Consumer Finance Leader Joins NFCC® Board of Trustees
Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 13, 2016 -- The National Foundation for Credit Counseling® (NFCC®) is pleased to announce the election of Kurt Grossheim to the board of trustees. Grossheim is the chief operating officer and executive vice president of Synchrony Financial, one of the nation’s premier consumer financial services companies. His career has spanned both domestic and international consumer lending, as well as leadership roles in operations, business integration, risk management and business development. Kurt also led GE Capital Bank in Austria as CEO, from 2002-2004, and served as chief operations officer of GE Service Bank in Germany. He has served as the risk management leader for Colonial Penn Insurance, and held numerous other positions since joining GE in 1990. Kurt earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
“Our ability to serve the membership is strengthened by the election of Kurt Grossheim to our board,” said the Honorable Nelson Diaz, chairman of the NFCC board of trustees.
The board of trustees plays a crucial role in the overall success of the NFCC. The trustees' responsibilities allow them to act as custodians of the vision. The NFCC and its members empower people to take charge of their finances and their future. The board also provides guidance on key strategies, fiduciary oversight, resource development, partnership building, and public policy advice and support.
“NFCC’s focus on promoting financially responsible behavior is something I strongly support as I have a longstanding commitment to responsible lending and financial education,” said Kurt Grossheim. “I look forward to this new opportunity with the board of trustees to continue building upon the great work they are doing to help improve the financial health of consumers and families.”
